Come+See

Come+See

The Next Generation team in Wigan is growing a new worshipping community which is ‘vibrant, Jesus-loving and welcomes all ages,’ reports one of the team.

‘Our aim is to recapture the missionary nature of the early church and we regularly reach out to the local community, showing people that God loves them and is at work in their lives. We’ve spoken blessings over our neighbourhood on prayer walks, we’ve done litter picks, and have enjoyed activities such as quizzes, board games evenings and film nights.’

This is having a real impact: ‘We have seen growth and revival in our small community, with a number of young people finding faith and deciding to follow Jesus.  Our biggest success is creating a safe space for anyone to come and see what Christian faith is all about.

One of the new young members says ‘Come+See is amazing. There is a real mix of people, of those who are more confident in their faith, and those who are starting their journey. Coming into a new church can be scary but everyone is so welcoming.’

Latest developments include Bacon Barms and a Bit of Bible, and a regular Worship Night which recently gathered 40+ people across 3 generations, and provided spaces to pray, chat, share and worship.
