Services and events at St Aidan’s are co-ordinated by a team of experienced volunteers who feel privileged to be called by God to maintain worship and to reach out to our community in so many ways. We have close links with the school and are passionate about the community and bringing people together to spread the word of God.

We have a variety of different services and groups each month to suit different tastes and we would love to meet you at one of our services.

Holy Trinity is located in Downall Green, Ashton in Makerfield. It is part of the South parish within Church Wigan.

Holy Trinity welcomes Christians and those who seek to connect to Christianity in the area. We aim to make contact with and encourage others to join us in our worship and service to God.

Our vision is to make an impact for God, here in Ashton-in-Makerfield, by helping people understand the enriching messages of eternal hope given to us by Jesus Christ through His words and deeds.

Everyone is welcome, no matter your age, beliefs, or background. Come just as you are – we’d love to get to know you better.

st thomas, ashton in makerfield

We at St Thomas’ are a friendly, welcoming church family with an age range from babies to people in their 90’s.

We aim to provide space for prayer, for worship, for learning and growing in faith. We have a lively Sunday school each week during the main service. We also like to chat after worship over tea, coffee and light refreshments.

We look forward to welcoming you at any of our services.

st luke's, stubshaw

St Luke’s is located in Stubshaw, just outside Ashton in Makerfield.

Firstly, the foundation for who we are and all that we do is God’s Word. Our faith in Jesus Christ and our relationship with him is our starting point.

Secondly, we are all learning to live out our core values and we are prayerfully growing, together as a community of faith.

More information about St Luke’s can be found on their dedicated A Church Near You page.

st peter's, ashton in makerfield

St Peter’s church was located in Bryn, just outside Ashton in Makerfield.

We use the scout hut in Ashton as their ‘base’ but you will find us actively out in the community.

We are a friendly welcoming easy going church family. We meet in our Brigade Hall, following the loss of our church building. When the church building had to be sadly closed the worshipping community were steadfast and supported each other to adopt the motto: ‘A Church Without Walls’

We have tried over the last few years to have varied and informal worship to meet the needs of our church family and anyone who comes to worship with us. We are prayer focused, our fellowship has strengthened over the past few years and we pray that God will guide us to do His work in the future. We have a mix of traditional hymns and worship songs during services and in the summer term we ‘learn’ the worship songs that the young people in school will be learning in prep from the leavers service at the cathedral.

We try our best to try to include our young people in the service. We have our Boys’ and Girls’ Brigades in church with us on the second Sunday in the month and this is an adapted morning prayer service which includes them.

More information about St Peter’s can be found on their dedicated A Church Near You page.

st andrew's, garswood

We are a small church with a BIG Heart, located in the village of Garswood offering a welcoming invitation to the local community.

As a Mission Church in Garswood for 92 years, we are here to serve and provide facilities for the community, with regular worship adopting different styles including café Church and Eucharistic services.

In addition, we open our doors to community initiatives, Karate, Dance, Indoor Bowling, Yoga, Tai-chi, plus a monthly Dementia café and Bereavement Group.
