Wigan Central

Wigan Central is made up of four church buildings; St Catharine’s, St Andrew’s, Christ Church and St Anne’s and other worship communities.

St Catharine's, scholes

We are seeking to follow Christ wherever and whatever that means today.

St Catharine’s is small, friendly and offers traditional worship. Its strong relationship with St Catharine’s CE Primary School has led to an experimental partnership where children lead worship.

St Catharine’s 190ft spire is a landmark of Wigan visible from miles around.

St Catharine’s has a Seekers at St Catharine’s group; for more information on this get in touch with the church directly using the link below.

More information about St Catharine’s can be found on their dedicated A Church Near You page.

st andrew's, springfield

St Andrew’s is a friendly, thriving community with lots of local amenities and activities to suit people of all ages and to involve them in our church family. Sunday worship is varied and includes an informal café church and more formal communion service. Children’s work on Sundays ‘Andy’s Kids’ takes place in the Parish Centre. There is a strong relationship with St Andrew’s CE Primary School.

st andrew's Cafe Church

Cafe Church takes place in the Parish Centre usually on the second Sunday of the month and is the only service on this day.

A casual approach to Christianity involving children, families and anyone wanting to take part. There will be crafts for the children and tea, coffee, juice with toast will be served during the service at no cost.

Christ Church, Ince

Christ Church is located next to the train station in Ince. The style of worship is friendly and informal, offering children’s activities, refreshments and a warm welcome. It is the home of the growing Christ Church Food Pantry, part of the Church Wigan ‘Lifted’ network. There is a close relationship with Ince CE Primary School.

St Annes, beech hill

St Anne’s is traditional church of committed faithful people. On Sundays you will experience incense, bells, candles and a celebration of the ancient ritual of the eucharist (communion), all set to enthusiastically sung sacred music. Its Food Pantry is part of the ‘Lifted’ network serving people in the local community. There is a good relationship with Beech Hill Community Primary School.
